CIHP IN THE MILTON TURNER BUILDING

CIHP’s St. Louis location is housed in the historic J. Milton Turner Building in Kirkwood, Missouri. In 2003, Dr. Clayton Skaggs revitalized the building and established it as the home of the newly formed Central Institute for Human Performance and the Karel Lewit Clinic.

The building gave CIHP the space to bring clinical care, rehabilitation, movement, education, and physical preparation together in one setting. More than two decades later, it remains the primary home of the Institute.

WHERE CIHP TOOK SHAPE

CIHP was created around a vision for something broader than a traditional clinic. Dr. Skaggs wanted to build a place where clinicians and performance professionals could work together, combining careful observation and clinical precision with movement, exercise, nutrition, and education.

That vision developed within the Milton Turner Building. What began as a growing St. Louis practice became a collaborative institute serving local clients as well as people traveling from across the country and around the world.

THE PRIMARY HOME OF THE CIHP TEAM

Today, the St. Louis location includes private treatment areas within the Karel Lewit Clinic, a fully equipped training environment, and space for assessment, rehabilitation, education, and physical preparation.

The setting allows members of the CIHP team to communicate directly and coordinate each person’s plan. It supports ongoing care for local clients as well as focused Visiting Consultations for those traveling to St. Louis.

Although the Milton Turner Building is now owned by the Kirkwood School District, CIHP continues to occupy and care for the space it helped preserve and revitalize.
