McGill Method Master Clinicians

Dr. Skaggs and Dr. George are 2 of only 18 McGill Method Master Clinicians in the world. Additionally, Dr. Skaggs collaborated with Professor McGill for 20 years.

Becoming a McGill Master Clinician is rare and has a very high standard. A clinician at this level has the competence to conduct an assessment of a patient’s pain, identify root causes of pain, and execute a therapeutic plan.

The cause of pain may be very complex and have elements of mechanics, neurology, personality, psychology, anatomy, load exposure, age, social forces and more.

Expertise in the McGill Method helps guide our clinicians to understand an individual’s pain mechanisms and develop a plan for building a foundation for pain-free activity.

Testimonials

Why clients love CIHP

The Central Institute for Human Performance gave me my life back! I am doing things I never thought I would be able to do again. I came to CIHP after being released from a neurosurgeon. I fractured my L2 vertebrae. 4 months wearing a back brace the fracture was stable, but I developed muscle atrophy. I had severe back pain. I could not bend to tie my shoes. I could not sit my core was so weak, it was hard to hold up my upper back. On my first appointment with their team, they immediately understood my physical and emotional condition and were ready to get started. I had a fitness assessment & they created an individualized treatment plan for me. I can’t say enough about the staff, they are wonderful, they assist with all of my strength training, making sure I am performing everything correctly, correct weight, etc. All my appointments are on time, the facilities are clean, the rehab/training area is not crowded. In closing this program is like no other, it is beyond what I could have hoped for.

Transformative. After ~2 years of trying various clinicians, physicians and ultimately surgery – I was never able to make meaningful progress until I started working with Dr. Skaggs, Tim Sirmon, Greg Hauck and team (I’d like to thank the customer service team for everything as well).

First off, the initial evaluation is very in-depth (I flew in for 3 days) to determine what undesirable attributes are contributing to my particular case. Everything is personalized with specific intention on the particular stage of the process; from the evaluation, to the treatment/rehabilitation plan, to modifications to the program.

I’m constantly in awe of the knowledge, compassionate and synergies of the team – every time I’m in-clinic or working virtually. I’m very grateful for the team and look forward to the rest of my journey.
